Herisau, 04.12.2025 (PresseBox) -

Agriculture worldwide needs potash fertilizer. Only a few countries can supply it.

Potash, or more precisely potassium in fertilizer form, is one of the three most important plant nutrients, alongside nitrogen and phosphate, and comes mainly from Russia, Belarus, and Canada. The U.S. Geological Survey has just added potash to its list of critical minerals. This is because dependence on potash imports from Belarus and Russia is to be reduced. The world's population is growing, and with it the demand for food. As a result, the global market for potash fertilizers is booming. Farmers need to increase their crop yields and productivity. Potash fertilizers improve plant quality, drought resistance, nutrient uptake, and root formation.

The Asia-Pacific region has a market share of just under 35 percent of the fertilizer market. Government initiatives and rising vegetable consumption are further driving this market. And potash fertilizer is a multi-billion dollar market. Potash fertilizer is the number one fertilizer worldwide. In addition, trade risks between the US and Canada and new capacities are causing delays.

However, there is one company that is successfully positioning itself in the potash market with a project in Gabon, Africa. Millennial Potash's Banio potash project is strategically located, with a direct route to US ports and Brazil, a major potash consumer. To date, Brazil imports about 95 percent of its potash demand from Russia, Belarus, and Belarus. It would also be a welcome development for Africa to have its first potash mine, as Africa currently has to import all of its potash.

Millennial Potash - https://www.commodity-tv.com/play/millennial-potash-updated-resource-estimate-up-275-with-further-growth-potential/ - is one of the world's most successful junior resource companies. The updated resource estimate for the Banio potash project in Gabon showed a 275 percent increase in measured and inferred resources. Therefore, the share price should still have further potential.
