Atlas Brings Next-Generation Weathering Testing Technology to electronica 2026

Mount Prospect, IL, USA, 27.10.2026 (PresseBox) - Atlas Material Testing Technology, the global leader in weathering testing technology, will feature its xenon-arc weathering instruments, solar simulation systems and worldwide natural weathering services at electronica 2026 in Munich, Germany, November 10-13, Hall A4, Stand 114. As the leading trade fair for the electronics industry, electronica brings together manufacturers, engineers, product developers, suppliers and technology companies from around the world.

Growing Demands on Environmental Durability Testing

As manufacturers develop new electronics, expand service environments and reengineer materials, environmental durability testing is becoming more complex. Consumer devices face varying levels of sunlight, heat and moisture, yet the category lacks a dedicated international weathering standard, leaving OEMs to adapt general materials-testing standards.

Automotive displays, cameras and sensors must meet demanding environmental requirements, while photovoltaic materials must withstand decades outdoors. Meanwhile, supply chain pressures and sourcing restrictions drive material substitutions, making indoor and outdoor solar stress testing essential to verify continued performance and assure quality.

Atlas Showcases Electronics Durability Testing Solutions

To help manufacturers address these challenges, Atlas will highlight testing solutions designed to evaluate electronics durability and performance under simulated and real-world environmental conditions.

Recently introduced, the new Ci5000E Weather-Ometer® allows electronic components and products to remain powered without sacrificing any of the category leading repeatability and reproducibility during accelerated xenon-arc weathering tests. The Ci5000E evaluates how displays, sensors, and other active functions react to light and heat during operation.

The SUNTEST® series of xenon-arc flatbed instruments delivers accelerated lightfastness and weathering testing for 3D specimens. Ideal for electronic device and component testing, the SUNTEST XXL features a high-capacity test chamber with a 3,000 cm² exposure area, accommodating extra-large dimensional and flat specimens.

Visitors to the booth can also learn about Atlas Weathering Testing Services, including commercial testing laboratories in the United States and Germany and the largest global network of natural weathering exposure sites. Benchmark facilities in Arizona and Florida offer contrasting desert and subtropical climates for evaluating material durability under real-world conditions. Specialized photovoltaic testing services include outdoor exposure testing of PV materials and modules, as well as grid-connected arrays.

Atlas weathering specialists will be available at the booth to discuss visitors’ individual testing needs. For more information, visit atlas-mts.com.
