Further Developed Rack Serve Carriers for Efficient and Mechanically Gentle Operation
SYSTRAPLAN relies on SEW-EURODRIVE
Herford, 07.09.2026 (PresseBox) - SYSTRAPLAN is continuing to develop its storage and retrieval machines and is relying on automation technology from SEW-EURODRIVE. By integrating the MOVI-C® automation platform and the MOVIKIT® StackerCrane software module, travel and hoist movements can be coordinated even more precisely. This creates the basis for more energy-efficient and mechanically gentle operation of automated warehouse systems.
At the heart of the solution is the coordinated control of travel and hoist axes. Instead of operating both movements independently at maximum possible dynamics, the motion profiles are coordinated so that the target position is reached as synchronously as possible. This enables efficient material flow in warehouse operation without placing unnecessary strain on the mechanical system.
Coordinated Motion Control for Greater Operational Efficiency
The coordinated axis control helps to reduce load peaks and makes the movement sequences of the storage and retrieval machine more uniform. In this way, energy consumption during the travel cycle can be optimized. At the same time, coordinated motion control supports smooth and practical operation, as the maximum possible dynamics do not have to be called upon in every situation.
Reduced mechanical stress
Another advantage lies in the reduced mechanical stress. When motion sequences are specifically coordinated and adapted to actual requirements, this has a positive effect on component loads and therefore on wear. This can help ensure that systems can be operated economically and reliably over the long term.
Standardized Software Basis Developed In-House
For implementation, SYSTRAPLAN uses standardized software modules developed in-house and integrated into the automation environment. This creates a uniform technical basis for project planning, commissioning and service. At the same time, this standardization provides the foundation for implementing projects consistently and reducing engineering effort.
The combination of a standardized software structure and integrated automation technology therefore supports not only technical consistency, but also efficient project execution. For operators, this means a solution designed for repeatability, practical applicability and stable operation.
Focus on Technically Sound Development
„For us, the focus is on the technically sound and economically sensible further development of our storage and retrieval machines,” explains Moritz Doodt, Head of the Electrical Department at SYSTRAPLAN.
“By integrating SEW technology, we are specifically improving the coordination of the motion sequences. This supports efficient operation and helps to reduce the mechanical load on the system.
Reliable Basis for Future Projects
By integrating the new automation solution, SYSTRAPLAN is strengthening the standardization of its storage and retrieval machines and creating a reliable basis for future projects.
The aim is to bring performance, energy consumption and mechanical stress into a technically sensible balance. This results in solutions that meet the requirements of modern intralogistics while also being designed for long-term system operation.
