Braunschweig, 31.08.2026 (PresseBox) - GearEngineer calculates accurate, manufacturing-ready 3D tooth geometries for cylindrical and bevel gears. Based on mathematical manufacturing simulations, the software generates realistic tooth forms, including microgeometry, providing a precise foundation for the direct production of gears using 5-axis milling.

The latest release extends the software's capabilities with the calculation of face couplings based on bevel gear tooth geometries. Among others, GearEngineer supports tooth systems equivalent to Klingelnberg face couplings, whose geometry is derived from spiral bevel gears manufactured according to the Klingelnberg Zyklo-Palloid® system. In addition to tooth geometry generation, the software also supports contact pattern analysis, allowing users to define the required microgeometry. The resulting high-resolution 3D models can be transferred directly to 5-axis machining processes.

The software can also calculate the tooth geometries of face couplings based on straight and helical bevel gears with different pitch cone geometries.

The new version further introduces numerous enhancements to existing modules. The input options for profile and flank modifications in the cylindrical gear and single cylindrical gear modules have been completely redesigned to improve usability. Invalid inputs are detected automatically, while missing parameter values are calculated by the software. For example, when defining a linear tip relief with a transition radius, users only need to specify either the start or end diameter of the transition radius. The second value is calculated automatically, ensuring a smooth tangential transition.

Another new feature is the calculation and 3D model generation of involute splines with helix angles of up to 89 degrees.
