Greif-Velox introduces Essential Line for standardized filling and bagging processes
Combine proven technology with reduced engineering requirements, shorter project lead times, and predictable investment costs
Lübeck, 25.08.2026 (PresseBox) - Greif-Velox is introducing the Essential Line, a portfolio of preconfigured solutions for the industrial filling and bagging of liquids and bulk solids. The product line is designed for companies with clearly defined packaging processes that want to combine proven technology with reduced engineering requirements, shorter project lead times, and predictable investment costs. With R-DOS Essential, BVP Essential, VeloVac Essential, and ValvoSeal Essential, the product family covers a range of applications from liquid filling and powder bagging to bag sealing. At the same time, it complements the individually engineered Custom Line, enabling companies to choose more specifically between standardized and customized system concepts.
Standardized concept with clearly defined functionality
With the Essential Line, Greif-Velox transfers established filling and bagging technologies to standardized machine concepts. Preconfigured variants, standardized interfaces, and predefined options reduce the need for technical coordination and engineering. The product line is therefore designed for typical industrial applications with clearly defined requirements, offering shorter project lead times and delivery times compared with individually engineered systems. The “Fit-to-Budget” concept combines a clearly defined scope of functionality and predictable investment costs with proven Greif-Velox quality and process reliability.
For operators, this primarily means greater predictability: the scope of functionality is clearly defined, coordination requirements are reduced, and integration into existing production environments is facilitated. At the same time, Essential Line solutions can be expanded within their defined framework. The Essential Line is therefore suitable both for companies investing in industrial filling or bagging technology for the first time and for operators looking to expand existing capacities.
“ Many companies face the challenge of expanding their production capacity at short notice or automating existing manual processes cost-effectively. At the same time, investments need to be predictable and technical risks kept to a minimum,” explains Sebastian Pohl, Managing Director of Greif-Velox. “With the Essential Line, we offer our customers proven Greif-Velox technology in a preconfigured machine concept. This allows us to combine the quality and process reliability for which we are well known in the market with faster project implementation and predictable investment costs.”
Four solutions for liquids, powders, and valve bags
The Radial Filling System R-DOS Essential is designed for precise, semi-automatic filling of liquid products into canisters, drums, and IBCs. Depending on the product, container, and filling process, it can fill up to 42 drums with a volume of 200 liters or up to 13 IBCs per hour. The system can handle liquids with viscosities ranging from approximately 1 to 1,500 mPa·s. Typical applications include the chemical, petrochemical, and specialty chemicals industries.
For bagging powdered bulk materials into valve bags, the Gross Pneumatic Packer BVP Essential is available in four configurations and can be expanded from manual operation to a fully automated packaging process. A key advantage of the concept is its retrofit capability: operators can start with a defined machine configuration and add further functions and automation steps at a later stage as production requirements change. The BVP Essential can also be integrated into a Full-Line solution. This means that future expansions do not have to be implemented in full as part of the initial investment. Depending on the product, bag format, and configuration, output rates of up to 140 bags per hour are possible. The system can process paper valve bags and woven PE valve bags, among others. Key features include precise weighing technology, stored product parameters, and a machine concept designed for low-dust processes. The BVP Essential was developed as a preconfigured solution for companies seeking to enter industrial bagging with a clearly defined machine scope or to automate existing processes. The system is suitable for products from industries including chemicals, minerals, building materials, and food.
The Vacuum Packer VeloVac Essential brings the key advantages of VeloVac vacuum technology to a standardized machine concept for clearly defined applications. It focuses on the controlled, low-dust bagging of ultra-light, highly aerated powders such as carbon black or silica. During the filling process, air is selectively extracted from the product by means of vacuum, significantly compacting the powder. The result is considerably more compact bags: depending on the product, compaction of up to 400 percent is possible, allowing storage and logistics costs to be reduced by up to 75 percent. At the same time, the lower transport volume reduces the carbon footprint associated with handling and transportation. The enclosed vacuum chamber also supports a clean bagging process and reduces product loss. With the standardized Essential concept, Greif-Velox makes these benefits of proven VeloVac technology available more quickly for applications with defined process requirements, while also reducing planning and coordination efforts.
The fourth solution, ValvoSeal Essential, complements the product family with a standardized ultrasonic sealing unit for suitable valve bags. It seals the bags immediately after the filling process. Controlled sealing can reduce product leakage and contamination while improving product safety, leak tightness, and process automation. The solution is designed for valve bags with ultrasonically weldable valve materials such as PE or PP.
Essential Line and Custom Line: two approaches for different requirements
With the Essential Line, Greif-Velox complements its individually engineered Custom Line. Both lines follow the same standards of quality, reliability, and process safety. The key difference lies in the degree of standardization and customization.
The Essential Line is designed for typical packaging processes with clearly defined requirements. Preconfigured machine variants, standardized interfaces, and predefined options reduce the need for technical coordination and support rapid installation and commissioning. This provides companies with a solution for applications where the required functions can be covered within the defined scope of the respective Essential machine.
The Custom Line, by contrast, is intended for production conditions that require individual technical engineering. These include complex production environments, special product characteristics, customer-specific interfaces, high or individually configured levels of automation, and complete systems designed to meet specific customer requirements.
This gives operators a clear basis for decision-making: where processes and requirements fall within a defined framework, the Essential Line enables standardized implementation with short delivery times, proven quality, and an investment framework tailored to the required scope of functionality. Where the production task calls for greater customization or a level of automation beyond this framework, the Custom Line continues to provide individually engineered system solutions.
Cost-effectiveness and predictability as key customer benefits
With the introduction of the Essential Line, Greif-Velox is addressing the growing demand for packaging systems with predictable investment costs that can be integrated quickly into existing production environments with manageable coordination requirements. Clearly defined scopes of performance, proven components, and predictable expansion options are intended to make it easier for companies to introduce or expand their packaging automation. Short delivery times, proven Greif-Velox quality, and the Fit-to-Budget principle are the key characteristics of the new product line.
For technical decision-makers, this makes it easier to determine at an early stage which system approach is best suited to the respective production task: a preconfigured Essential solution for clearly defined requirements or an individually engineered Custom solution for more complex conditions.
