TÜV SÜD is a new member of the German Association for negative Emissions (DVNE)
Market for CO₂ Removal
Munich, Germany, 20.07.2026 (PresseBox) - TÜV SÜD is a new member of the German Association for negative Emissions (DVNE). The carbon dioxide removal (CDR) market is growing. Stakeholders within the DVNE are working together to ensure an efficient and constructive transition from pilot projects to large-scale deployment, and to support and accelerate the market’s ramp-up in Germany. Standards and credibility play a crucial role in enabling scalability and ensuring transparency. With over 25 years’ experience in global carbon markets and a history spanning more than 150 years as a pioneer of new technologies, standards and markets, TÜV SÜD brings unique expertise and credibility to the growing CDR ecosystem.
Both technically and politically, the view that CDR should be integrated into broader climate strategies is gaining ground. At the same time, demands are being made regarding scientific evaluation, comparability, and societal acceptance. Market participants aim to address these challenges collectively through the DVNE.
Dr. Céline Bilolo, Chief Sustainability Officer and Head of the Sustainability Business Unit at TÜV SÜD, explains: “CO₂ removal can only be implemented on a large scale if stakeholders have confidence in the methods, technologies, and standards. By joining the DVNE, we are contributing our expertise and collaborating with partners across the entire ecosystem to promote high-quality CO₂ removal in Germany and Europe.”
Stefan Schlosser, Managing Director of DVNE, is pleased to welcome the new member: “With TÜV SÜD, DVNE is gaining a globally recognized expert in trust, transparency, and standards. Its expertise will help strengthen the foundations necessary for the expansion of high-quality CO₂ removal in Germany and Europe.”
