The Challenge
Back in 2019, upon the introduction in Spain of the “Ley 1/2019 de secreto empresarial” regarding trade secrets, Kimitec faced a pressing need. This law derived from EU directive 2016/943 that mandates safeguarding the privacy and authenticity of sensitive business data.
At first, Kimitec used WIPO PROOF from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). This solution, although effective, was discontinued, leaving Kimitec in search of a new intellectual property management software. They sought a tool that not only ensured compliance with this law but was also capable of timestamping confidential documents.
During their hunt for an alternative, they explored various solutions, including those from patent and trademark agencies and law firms. But given the volume of their confidential information and the costs associated with these options, they proved inviable.

Through a recommendation from a SharePoint consultant, David was introduced to CB Blockchain Seal for SharePoint, the product that later became known as Truth Enforcer. With its ease of installation, user-friendly interface, and seamless integration with SharePoint, it immediately caught David’s attention.
