GIG Karasek changes company name to GKT
From equipment manufacturing to system partner
Gloggnitz, 28.04.2026 (PresseBox) - As of April 28, 2026, GIG Karasek GmbH will operate under the name GKT GmbH. This is purely a name change. Ownership structure, organization, and management remain unchanged. Contacts, contracts, and all business relationships continue without interruption.
For nearly 90 years, GIG Karasek has stood for precision in metalworking. Building on this foundation, the company has continuously expanded its process engineering capabilities. Today, GKT develops and delivers key industrial solutions in thermal separation and environmental technologies.
The name change reflects evolving industrial conditions. Energy prices, CO₂ pricing, regulatory requirements, and increasing global competition are reshaping investment decisions. Competitiveness is no longer defined by capacity alone, but by how effectively energy and material flows are managed, losses are reduced, and industrial cycles are closed.
In recent years, the company has systematically expanded its portfolio. In 2022, the Environmental Technology business unit was established. In 2024, this was followed by solutions for CO₂ valorization with ECO2CELL and systems for industrial waste heat recovery with CompriVAP and VarioVAP.
These developments define a clear strategic direction: improving efficiency, enabling economically viable decarbonization, and delivering scalable process solutions - from validation in the in-house technical center to turnkey EPC plants.
The name GKT makes this development visible. It is reflected in our approach We Engineer Green Key Technologies, which stands for the combination of technical depth, industrial execution capability, and measurable economic impact.
