KNDS presents further development of LEOPARD 2 A-RC 3.0 technological concept study at EUROSATORY 2026
Paris, 16.06.2026 (PresseBox) - At the 2026 Eurosatory show, KNDS is presenting a further development of its fully self-financed study LEOPARD 2 A-RC 3.0, which consists of a Remote Controlled Turret and an overall three-man crew.
The system showcases new technological approaches with regard to future tank warfare. At the center of the concept is the innovative, unmanned turret design with its unique weapon mounting concept, which prevents the weapon from dipping into the vehicle. This not only creates the possibility of fundamentally new spatial usage in the hull. The compact arrangement of the crew simultaneously reduces the protected volume, combined with a weight reduction. The improved power-to-weight ratio increases tactical mobility.
The LEOPARD 2 A-RC 3.0 is designed for different calibers, allowing 120mm, 130mm, and 140mm weapons to be integrated. Drone defense has been brought even more into focus. The concept study is equipped with an advanced secondary armament. The mounting is not only capable of weapon and ammunition exchange; its construction allows it to fold down, ensuring that the LEOPARD 2 A-RC 3.0 can be easily transported by rail. In addition, the IT architecture has been prepared for enhanced networking.
With the LEOPARD 2 A-RC 3.0, KNDS demonstrates key technologies for the next generation of armored combat systems. This new concept builds on the successful foundation of one of the world’s most successful main battle tanks. Currently, the LEOPARD 2 is under contract with 24 nations worldwide and with the continued investments into new technologies, it is set to continue its unique success story.
