SIKA makes calibration data digitally usable: Digital Calibration Certificate available for TP Premium temperature calibrators

With the Digital Calibration Certificate (DCC), SIKA brings machine-readable calibration data directly to the temperature calibrator – simple, standardised and available as a free retrofit for many existing devices.

Kaufungen, 16.06.2026 (PresseBox) - Capturing calibration data digitally, processing it in a structured way and integrating it more easily into existing quality processes: with the Digital Calibration Certificate, or DCC for short, SIKA is taking a pioneering step towards digital temperature calibration. The function is available with software version 30.58 for new TP Premium temperature calibrators. Existing TP Premium models from August 2022 onwards can be made DCC-capable with a free software update.

From calibration certificate to machine-readable file

The Digital Calibration Certificate is the digital evolution of the traditional calibration certificate. Instead of a paper document or a pure PDF file, the DCC provides calibration data in a standardised, machine-readable XML file.

This makes calibration data easier to archive, share and transfer automatically into digital systems. A static document becomes a structured data basis for modern quality and test equipment processes.

Less effort, fewer errors, better data quality

The DCC is particularly relevant for companies that manage large numbers of test equipment and sensors and already use their calibration data in CAQ, ERP or QM systems. In these environments, the Digital Calibration Certificate can help reduce manual data transfer, avoid sources of error and improve data quality in digital processes.

The benefit is therefore not an additional file, but a more efficient way of handling calibration data: less paper, fewer manual process steps and a better basis for automated processes.

Created directly on the device

“Many people are talking about the Digital Calibration Certificate. SIKA is already making it available directly in the temperature calibrator and currently as the only provider on the market,” says Martin Opfermann, Product Manager at SIKA. “Our aim was to make implementation as simple as possible for practical use: users can create the DCC directly on the device and continue using the calibration data in a structured way.”

Ready for digital quality processes

With the DCC function, SIKA combines proven temperature calibration with the requirements of modern digital quality processes. For users, this means that calibration data becomes usable exactly where it is needed – in test equipment management, quality management and automated system environments.

The DCC is based on the Digital Calibration Certificate concept developed by the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), Germany’s national metrology institute. The aim is to provide a uniform, machine-readable format for calibration data that can be seamlessly integrated into digital processes and Industry 4.0 applications.

Available for new and many existing TP Premium devices

The DCC function is available for TP Premium temperature calibrators with software version 30.58. New devices are equipped accordingly. TP Premium models from August 2022 onwards can be retrofitted with a free software update. The function is not available as an update for older devices.
