SKZ offers companies a powerful online tool with “CONNIE”
Würzburg, 09.03.2026 (PresseBox) - The SKZ Plastics Center supports companies with a digital tool that makes it easy to create EPDs (environmental product declarations). The standard-compliant software significantly reduces the effort involved—especially when multiple EPDs need to be created for different products.
Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are becoming increasingly important for manufacturers of construction products. With the amended Construction Products Regulation (CPR), transparent, reliable, and standard-compliant environmental information will become a key requirement for market access. With the EPD tool “CONNIE Calculator,” SKZ provides companies with a practical, digital tool that significantly simplifies, accelerates, and makes the creation of EPDs more economical.
CONNIE records all material and energy flows in a structured manner and automatically evaluates them in accordance with EN 15804. The results are presented in both tabular and graphical form, enabling companies to quantify the environmental impact of their products in a well-founded manner. The tool is based on a recognized database (Ecoinvent) and maps all relevant EPD parameters.

A key added value of CONNIE lies in its high efficiency in EPD creation. Automated calculation and systematic data collection significantly reduce time and costs compared to traditional, project-based EPD creation.
